Installation
Requirements
- macOS 12 (Monterey) or later
- Apple Silicon or Intel Mac
Download
Download the latest release from the releases page. Two builds are available:
| Build | For |
|---|---|
Restroom_aarch64.dmg | Apple Silicon (M1, M2, M3, M4) |
Restroom_x86_64.dmg | Intel Mac |
If you're unsure which chip your Mac has, go to Apple menu → About This Mac.
Install
- Open the downloaded
.dmgfile. - Drag Restroom into your Applications folder.
- Eject the disk image and launch Restroom from Applications or Spotlight.
First launch
macOS may show a security prompt the first time you open Restroom because it was downloaded from the internet. If this happens, right-click the app in Finder and choose Open, then confirm in the dialog. You only need to do this once.
Updates
Restroom checks for updates automatically on launch. When an update is available, a banner appears at the top of the window — click Install & Restart to apply it. Updates are downloaded and verified in the background; you won't be prompted until everything is ready.
You can also check manually: Settings → About → Check for updates.
Uninstall
Drag Restroom from your Applications folder to the Trash. Your rooms and settings are stored separately in ~/Library/Application Support/Restroom — delete that folder too if you want a clean removal.
